Safer, easier to fly and better image capture
The new DJI A 2S drone blurs the line between home use, prosumer and full-pro aerial imagery platforms by adding a huge 1inch camera sensor into the electronics package – to deliver 20 megapixel 5.4K video at 30fps or 4K at 60fps and 150Mbps. Until now, in order to get an image sensor with that level of sensitivity, you needed an altogether bigger drone - one capable of carrying a full DSLR camera – and all the hassle that that brings with it. The new A 2S ends that in a small, neat package. Capable of recording in H264 or H265, the A 2S features a new digital zoom that supports 4X zoom at 4K 30fps, 6X at 2.7K 30fps, 4X at 2.7K 60fps, 6X at 1080P 60fps and 8X at 1080P 30fps – so you should see everything with pin-sharp clarity. Check out the MasterShots feature, where the drone will fly through 10 pre-set flight patterns around a designated target. It then downloads the footage and cuts together the video for you. With FocusTrack, which uses Spotlight, ActiveTrack and Point of Interest features, for ‘follow-cam’ action. With 4-way optical obstacle sensors and enhanced APAS 4.0 anti-collision algorithms, you should be action rich and crash free. ADS-B proximity tech keeps you and actual aircraft apart (great news), so more fun and fewer headaches for your 31-minute maximum flight time. The A 2S looks to be a strong option for anyone looking to get into autonomous flight camera drones, with only the Mavic 2 Pro in the race as a viable option.
