Salomon X-Ultra4 Mid GTX

Category leading fast paced hiker
The Salomon X-Ultra hiking boot line has repeatedly topped the fast-paced hiking categories and the fourth iteration suggests that successful trend will continue unbroken. The core premise of the X-Ultra has always been to combine trail running shoe fit, delivering nimble, underfoot agility, thanks to the Salomon ContaGrip MA rubber outsole and the classic Salomon stability Wings, with the rugged build and durability of a full hiking boot. The v4 of the design slims the X-Ultra profile further, to make it both physically and visually smaller, without giving up decent width and space for real, human feet. The revised upper has a new stability ADV-C ‘chassis’, featuring a new lacing and bracing system to find, adjust and maintain optimal fit and fluid stride. The TPU details at the heel and toe – a Salomon signature feature – remain, again to a slimmed down, yet still useful size. The Gore-Tex lining, that allows full-bore approach to water crossings and wet days is, as ever, beyond reproach. (Note: The X-Ultra can be had in a non-GTX variant too). For a day boot, that has expedition thoughts, it moves more like a racy trail shoe than ever before.
