If you’ve ever put a bike or skis or kayak on your vehicle you know Sweden’s Thule for its innovative auto racks and accessories. With their first North American flagship store in Denver, CO they are here to show that they are more than solely a rack company. Partnering with long time retail partner Rack Attack, the 1600 square foot store will also feature award-winning products from their newer categories, including child carriers and strollers, premium luggage, daypacks & backpacking packs, and rooftop tents.
The store will be located in downtown Denver’s newest retail space, Basecamp at Market Station, which has designs on being Denver’s leading destination for outdoor retailers and consumers. Thule does have numerous dedicated brand stores throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America, so this is not totally new territory for them.
Why Denver you ask? Besides the well known fact that the city is a bustling hub for all things outdoors, Thule has an office for development and design less than an hour from there in Longmont, CO. This combined with the Rack Attack colab, Denver gives them solid local infrastructure in place.
Even with a pandemic delayed opening of summer 2021 for this location, Thule does plan to open 1-2 North American stores a year. The company sees success in retail not in sales, but promoting their burgeoning line of products, and the quality of them. The other focus for the stores are promoting the company’s sustainability efforts and encouraging people to get outdoors and play.
