Is your jacket Vegan?
Probably not is the short answer. But it could be, at least if you pop for the new Vaude HeatSphere insulation. The HeatSphere is made from 100 percent recycled PET plastic fibres, which come from old soda bottles – so a proper post-consumer, eco-friendly material. The resulting fibre works like natural down to insulate, and is more effective than other made-made solutions whether the jacket is dry or wet. They’re highly elastic which make the fill flexible (enabling a more active fit for the wearer), but perhaps the best attribute (after being toasty warm that is) is that the HeatSphere fill doesn’t migrate or clump when wet. This means you can happily wash your HeatSphere equipped Vaude jacket, without worrying that you’ll end up with all the fill in one sleeve (we’ve all been to that party). Oh yeah, and back to where we came in, Vaude HeatSphere is officially certified as being vegan too.
The new HeatSphere insulation tech will feature in Vaude’s new 3-in-1 Elope jacket as part of their 2021 mid-season launch. Providing a highly water-resistant hard-shell jacket, with a dedicated a zip-in HeatSphere equipped quilted liner jacket, to add layering options that can be adjusted as the weather changes (and back again). Each element can be stowed into its own internal pocket, for on-the-go portability.
